General Information about the IEEE and the IEEE Oregon Section. IEEE A non-profit organization, IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. The IEEE name was originally an acronym for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. Today, the organization's scope of interest has expanded into so many related fields, that it is simply referred to by the letters I-E-E-E (pronounced Eye-triple-E). For more details see http://ieee.org/web/aboutus/home/index.html IEEE Oregon Section The mission of the IEEE Oregon Section is to support our engineering community in the development of technology, the needs of local industry, and the advancement of members' careers. We strive to make our Section a center of innovative technical excellence. The territory of the Oregon Section includes Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Skamania, and Wahkiakum Counties of Southwest Washington State, and all of the State of Oregon except the following counties: Baker, Grant, Harney, Malheur, Morrow, Umatilla Union, and Wallowa.
