FIRST: IF IT LIFTS MAN OFF THE GROUND, YOU'LL SEE IT: SPACE, MODERN AVIATION, AVIATION HISTORY, IT'S ALL HERE! If this is your first time at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, you have a lot to look forward to! Housing over 120 aircraft - from early military, cargo and commercial planes, bombers, spacecraft and fighters, to the ultimate experience - the one and only Spruce Goose, built and flown, only once, by Howard Hughes - it's all here in the Aviation Museum! If you've been to this building before, most of it is going to be different, as new aircraft are brought in every few months, and we guarantee most you have NOT seen before! Come again to re-experience the airplane and helicopter exhibits and artifacts, thrill to stories of heroic achievement, and great milestones in aviation heroism, daring-do, engineering marvel, science and technology. The Space Museum is a new building and still a "work in process." Covering the "Race into Space," you'll see the X15, X38, and Titan 2 rockets the SR71 satellite plane, helicopters, and a Mercury capsule. We'll all meet up at the entrance to the Museum at 1PM, where you'll get your pre-paid tickets. From there, we'll divide into groups and get a private IEEE tour of the Aviation Museum. As always, the tour guides, many of whom have flown or actively been a part of these programs, will make history come to life. The tour will last for about 90 minutes, followed by lots of time afterwards to walk around on your own, spend more time at those particular exhibits you found most exciting, and, of course, explore the Spruce Goose "up close and personal"! If you'd prefer a self-guided tour through the Aviation Museum, you'll have plenty of time and opportunity! It's also a quick walk over to the Space Museum to check out all the cool stuff there! Because this section is still under development, and every artifact is clearly described and explained, tour guides are unnecessary. THERE'S MORE THAN JUST THE MUSEUMS AND TOUR!
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE THAN JUST THE MUSEUMS AND TOUR AND IMAX 3D!
BUT WAIT, THERE'S EVEN MORE THAN JUST THE MUSEUMS AND TOUR AND IMAX 3D AND DINNER!
