Overview

In the session Max Summers, Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Centers (SBTDC) State Director and his colleague Jim Gann will discuss their role in helping universities transform research into products that can be commercialized, and building innovation into companies. The SBTDCs provide special assistance needed by science- and engineering-oriented companies. Their special technology program encourages and enhances technology R&D, technology transfer and deployment, providing services for those interested in seeking SBIR/STTR funding.

Max Summers is director of the Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers, a network of business assistance professionals that includes ten full-service centers, six satellite centers, seven special service centers and 15 University Extension Business Development Specialists.
