Abstract: A business “War Game” is a discovery technique used in competitive intelligence to probe the strengths and weaknesses of company market strategy. “War Games” come in many embodiments. Some of these include complex business simulation computer programs based on game theory. Others are qualitative and are based on detailed human intelligence of the company's own market strategy, as well as that of its competitors'. The results from a war game exercise, whatever its embodiment, are fresh and penetrating insights into what the competitive forces are in a company's marketplace and how to combat them. About the Speaker: Susan Federici, Ph.D. and IEEE senior member. She is the Founder and Principal of Federici Business Group. Susan holds a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Southern California. She has more than 20 years of experience both working in new product development and working with clients to achieve their business growth goals.
