How to write an article

• Login
• Click on Submit an Article in the User Menu. The User Menu only appears when you are logged in. The item Submit an Article only appears if you have Publisher privilege.
• Choose the Section/Category. Please do not submit uncategorized articles.
• Choose Published=Yes
• Choose whether to place your article on the Front Page. Most people choose to publish their article on the Front Page.
• Write your article.
• Click Save.
• Logout.

How to create an Account

 (account creation turned ON  on  5/30) (with added security)

• Click on the Login Tab
•  Click on Register
• Fill out the form. User your real name for Name. Use anything you want for Username.
• Be sure to enter a valid email.
• Choose a password.
• Answer the Math question.
• Type in the captcha code.
• Click Register.
• Check your email. You will receive an activation email. Open this email and click on the activation link. Your account will not work unless you click on this activation link. Some email clients may view this activation message as SPAM. Check your junk folder if you do not see the message. The message usually arrives a few minutes after you clicked Register. Your initial account has hardly any privilege.
• Join the IEEE Oregon Discussion group. To join click on the link on the our Front Page. Post to this group to request additional privilege if you want it. To write articles, you need Author privilege. To write and publish, you need Publisher privilege. If you have an unpublished article that you want published, make the request on the IEEE Oregon discussion group.

How to add Chapter information

 Instructions are similar to How to write an article.

• Login
• Click on Submit an Article in the User Menu. The User Menu only appears when you are logged in. The item Submit an Article only appears if you have Publisher privilege.
• Choose the Section/Category. Please do not submit uncategorized articles. The Section=Chapters. The Category=<the name of your chapter, which is the same as your Chapter submenu item.)
• Choose Published=Yes
• Choose not to place your article on the Front Page.
• Write your article.
• Click Save.
• Logout.

The table that appears under Chapter menu is editable by Publishers. Its section/category/article is Chapters/Chapters Intro/Local IEEE Chapters. The information this table links to is readable but not editable. The reason it is not editable by Publishers is because it was ported from our previous site.
