We are seeking your help hosting
students and sponsoring 100% of student attendance at this year’s
Banquet!
This annual event for high school
students partners students from Oregon and SW Washington high schools with
local engineers for an afternoon of exploring engineering careers. Juniors
and seniors sign up for the event through their high school counselors or
math/science/technology teachers. These students are paired up with host
engineers, who will join them on the afternoon’s activities. This program
relies on the participation of local engineers who host one or more
students, and spend time sharing their engineering backgrounds with the
students, answering questions, and providing a hands-on glimpse into the
world of engineering.
This year’s keynote speaker is Alan Miller, Director of Technology
Integration for Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner.
This year’s field trips include:
- MEI-Charleton’s
materials testing laboratory,
- Nike’s research & development laboratory,
- Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant,
- ODOT’s Traffic Management Operations Center and Portland Bridges,
and
- Portland’s green buildings.
Tours will begin at 2pm. The
exhibit hall is open from 4:30-5:45pm. Dinner begins at 6pm.
See here for schedule
details.
The success of the program depends on the participation of local engineers
on the day of the event. To be a host, please fill out and return the
sign up form.
Register by Wednesday, January 24th.
Company sponsorships are available. For as little as $350 up to
$1000. See here for
