New Open Scientific Font Released PDF Print E-mail

A new Web-based character set called STIX fonts that perfectly renders the full range of characters and symbols needed in scientific, technical, and medical (STM) publishing is now available for free download at http://www.stixfonts.org/. These Unicode-based OpenType fonts have been designed to support the full range of characters and symbols needed in STM publishing, for both print and online formats.

Volunteers for Technology for Independent Aging Study PDF Print E-mail

The Oregon Center for Aging and Technology (ORCATECH) at the Oregon Health & Science University is conducting a research study on independent aging, using technology. They are looking to use the expertise and experience of (mostly) retired engineers and related professionals to participate in an on-going, six to ten month Internet-based communication forum on subjects pertinent to in-home health monitoring technology. They are looking for 100-200 people to volunteer. Read the study flyer here.
