Volunteers are needed to be judges at the 2010 Intel Northwest Science Expo (NWSE)

IEEE Oregon is looking for judges for the IEEE Special Awards, both in Middle and High School categories at the April 2 state event.

There are also opportunities to be an "official" judge at the NWSE or one of the regional fairs this year.

Microsoft Entertainment & Devices will be in Portland on Tuesday, February 9th 2010 with our Six Degrees of Hardware Roadshow.  The Microsoft Hardware story will be presented by a key executive in the business. In addition, several of the members of our hardware product teams will be available discuss our products in greater detail.

The NEW IEEE.tv is alive. It’s designed to bring an improved internet video watching experience to IEEE members and technologists around the globe.

The new Web site incorporates advanced features as well as a redesigned viewer interface for watching programs. The Web site enables visitors to easily search and sort through the more than 130 videos currently part of the IEEE.tv video library, based on specific topics of interest.

The tragedy in Haiti is still only in the first stage of triage with valiant efforts being made to alleviate the immediate suffering and provide the basics for sustaining human life. However, challenges just as daunting lay ahead for reconstruction. One of these will be the re-establishing of engineering and technology education and professional activities in Haiti.
